We are pleased to announce a new synergy between the 3-CO project and TealHelix, two EU-funded initiatives working towards more sustainable, transparent, and responsible food and bio-based systems. This collaboration is rooted in a shared ambition to strengthen digital solutions and consumer-facing communication that support environmentally conscious decision-making.
The partnership between 3-CO (Concise Consumer Communication through Robust Labels for Biobased Systems) and TealHelix was born from a mutual recognition of the need for digital and labelling innovations in the bioeconomy. While TealHelix focuses on solutions for transparent and traceable food systems, 3-CO is developing a supportive framework to enhance labelling and certification schemes (LCS) for industrial bio-based products (BBPs). Both projects aim to empower consumers to make informed and sustainable choices.
Shared goals and complementary strengths:
- Consumer empowerment: Both projects are centred around enabling consumers to engage with sustainability more actively. 3-CO works on label and certification designs informed by stakeholder input, while TealHelix develops digital tools that enhance visibility of product origin and sustainability impact.
- Digital solutions: A core component of both projects is the creation of digital platforms. 3-CO is co-developing smart tools that offer insights into eco-labels and certifications. TealHelix is creating traceability applications that link sustainability data with consumer interfaces.
- Sustainability and transparency: By improving the availability and clarity of environmental information, both projects contribute to increasing the market share of circular, sustainable bio-based products.
- Policy and industry alignment: The two projects are aligned in their support of the European Green Deal and Sustainable Development Goals, offering policy recommendations and frameworks that can guide industry and government actors.
Through this collaboration, 3-CO and TealHelix aim to co-host events, share data and research outcomes, and explore the integration of their tools and approaches. Together, they will spread their impact across Europe by creating a stronger ecosystem of digital and communicative innovation in the bioeconomy.
